FAIRING--- Fairing is made up of coloured gel coat and hand laid fiberglass. Mating of the pieces is done with an aluminum membrane and rivets, along with adhesive. Weight is aprox 24 lbs when installed. Doors are made with lexan along with windows. Skis are aluminum and lexan. Trim tab is aluminum along with control cable and sheath. Control lever is friction set for more accurate settings. Common speed gain for fairing alone is 7mph and full enclosure is 10mph. Stall speed drops roughly 3mph with full enclosure. C.G. of plane is not usually affected by the fairing because fiberglass mass is balanced fore to aft. |
